How we build your website
A friendly, step-by-step process with no surprises. Here is what happens, what we need from you, and what affects how long it takes.
Five steps from first question to launch
You are in the loop the whole way, and we keep every step in plain English.
Step 1 of 5
Tell us about your business
You complete a short questionnaire about your goals, customers, services, hours, and the look you want. It is built so you can skip what you do not know. We read every answer.
- Business basics and who you serve
- Your main goal (calls, bookings, orders, quotes)
- Services, hours, and what changes often
- Your logo, colors, and photos, if you have them
Step 2 of 5
We plan the site
We turn your answers into a simple plan: which pages you need, what each page should say, and what you want visitors to do. We also plan the search basics, like page titles and the words your customers use.
- Page list and structure
- Calls to action for each page
- Search keyword plan
Step 3 of 5
We design and write
We design the layout, write the copy in a voice that sounds like you, and build the pages mobile-first. We will tell you which photos you need and how to take them.
- Mobile-first design
- Plain-English copy
- Photo shot list
Step 4 of 5
You review, we refine
You look everything over and tell us what to change. We refine until you are happy with how it looks, reads, and works on your phone.
- Review on phone and desktop
- Round of changes
- Final check
Step 5 of 5
Get ready to launch
We hand over a fast, accessible, search-ready site and walk you through the next steps, such as connecting your domain and updating your Google Business Profile or other listings.
- Launch-ready handoff
- Walkthrough in plain English
- Checklist for after launch
What we need, and what moves the timeline
What we need from you
- Your business details: name, contact info, hours, and where you serve customers
- A list of your services, menu, or products
- Your logo and brand colors, if you have them
- Photos of your space, work, and team (we will help you plan these)
- Prompt feedback during review
What affects the timeline
- How many pages and features the site has
- How quickly we receive your content and photos
- Whether you need booking, ordering, or a store
- How many rounds of changes you need
We will give you a realistic timeline once we have read your questionnaire.
Process questions
How long does it take to build a website for a small business?
It depends on the size of the site and, honestly, how quickly we can get your photos, text, and feedback. Smaller sites generally move faster than sites with booking, ordering, or lots of pages. After you complete the questionnaire we will give you a realistic timeline for your project.

How much does a website cost for a small business?
Our starting prices are $600 for a Starter site and $1,500 for a Standard site, with custom quotes for bigger projects and an optional care plan starting at $79/month. Your exact price depends on how many pages you need, which features you want (like booking, ordering, or a gallery), and how much writing and photo help you need. Fill out the short questionnaire and we will come back to you with a quote based on your actual project.
